Cinnamon: Cinnamon’s sweet, spicy aroma is popular around the world. It is obtained from a tropical evergreen tree that can grow up to 14 metres tall, and its bark, leaves and flowers are highly aromatic. Although cinnamon has a long history of culinary use, its essential oil is surprisingly versatile. Cinnamon is also commonly used to flavour mouthwashes and chewing gum.

CloveThe beneficial properties and uses of clove have been recognised since ancient Chinese and Indian cultures. As a food flavouring, it adds a distinctive spicy taste to dishes and desserts. Clove is also widely used for its flavour in dental preparations, confectionery and chewing gum.

EucalyptusOil from the leaf/stem of Eucalyptus radiata, oil from the leaf of Eucalyptus polybractea, oil from the leaf of Eucalyptus kochii, oil from the leaf of Eucalyptus loxophleba, oil from the leaf of Eucalyptus globulus.

The eucalyptus tree, sometimes called a gum tree, is an evergreen that can grow up to 15 metres tall. Its primary chemical constituents, eucalyptol and alpha-terpineol, contribute greatly to a soothing massage experience. Eucalyptus essential oil has relaxing, tension-easing qualities and offers benefits for the skin.

Rosemary: Rosemary is an aromatic evergreen shrub whose leaves are commonly used to flavour foods such as stuffing, pork, roast lamb, chicken and turkey. Highly valued in ancient Greek, Roman, Egyptian and Hebrew cultures, rosemary was regarded as a sacred plant. Its herbaceous, energising aroma has also made Rosemary essential oil popular for aromatic use and massage.

Wild Orange: Cold-pressed from the peel, Wild Orange essential oil is one of dōTERRA’s best-selling essential oils thanks to its energising aroma and many beneficial properties. Uses

Add one drop of On Guard blend to a bowl of water and soak apple slices in it for a healthy snack.

Cautions

Use only diluted. Do not take more than one drop per day. Keep out of reach of children. Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. If it contacts the skin, avoid sunlight and UV rays for at least 12 hours after use.

Cinnamon: (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) The bark of the cinnamon tree is harvested throughout the year once it reaches about three years of age. The tree is then cut so the bark can be removed from the trunk and larger branches. The bark grows back and is harvested again when it reaches the appropriate size. After it is stripped from the tree, the bark is dried in the sun and the essential oil is then extracted by steam distillation.

Clove: (Eugenia caryophyllata) The clove tree is originally native to Southeast Asia. It takes a clove tree about three years to become productive, but it can live for more than 100 years. The essential oil is extracted from flower buds that grow on the trees. Shortly before the buds open, they turn bright red, indicating that they are ready for harvest.
